I truly believe in helping people, through tangible, realistic ways, and I stay true to that throughout all of my work.
With a degree in Industrial Design, and a background working in the medical and mental health industries, my expertise is providing alternative solutions to complex problems in a human-focused way. I’ve had the impacts in preventing burnout for employees, enhancing medical software and researching new educational tools. Within all of my work, I’ve sought to improve the lives of everyone I can through practical ways.
(And I have had a ton of fun doing it!)
Let me tell you about some of the unique roles I’ve had
As Visual Experience Designer at Autodesk, I design UI/UX fundamentals for Weave, the Autodesk Design System.
Strategized, developed and maintained user interface guidelines to be used by product teams throughout the company.
Designed cohesive interface and interaction guidance for complex architectural, engineering, and manufacturing software for a variety of projects and challenges.
Conducted explorations, research and audits to develop a comprehensive understanding of internal and external products, REACT Components and design system patterns.
Utilized Figma, MURAL, and other design tools to analyze, explore and design complex user interface patterns and behaviours for use across all Autodesk software applications, both individually and directly with product teams such as Fusion 360, Revit and Infraworks.
At Adracare, I designed powerful experiences for medical and mental health providers, with a focus on quality and practicality, strongly contributing their acquisition by WELL Health in 2021.
Created highly detailed Design Systems and User Interfaces using Adobe XD, Balsamiq, and Zeplin, that were used in live-demonstrations during every client proposal and demo for upcoming features
Contributed towards 5 separate major enterprise client feature sets, designing complex features and balancing multiple medical specialties’ needs without sacrificing clear user experience and efficiency
Actualized research and data into concrete road map items; Feature lists, User Experience flows, Feature requirements and course-corrections for active sprints or development plans.
Assisted strongly with the Project Management duties for a AGILE methodology team using Atlassian software (Jira, Confluence)
Utilized development knowledge when designing for API Integrations, WCAG, HIPAA data safety and compliance, and multi-tenant environments
Engaged directly with healthcare practitioners, clinical and administrative staff, gathering feedback and understanding unique clinical environments to design software that solved tangible problems
Assumed multiple roles as the company grew to ensure quality process company wide. Assisted with Website design and development, Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and more.
At Autumn, I led the UI/UX, feature development and Product Management for a team of 6 to create a industry-ready responsive application drawing attention to workplace burnout.
Utilized Figma to create a variety of high-quality development ready prototypes, for our responsive web application to be used in feature development and client proposals
Conducted live prototyping sessions, and internal A/B testing to keep all team members involved in product development.
Spearheaded the team’s product process, taking a unorganized development cycle and applying AGILE methodology to create clearer requirements, deployment schedules and QA processes
Took initiative with development and employed React, node.js, HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge; assisting with Front End bugs and feature development, and committed well documented clean code to our web app.
At the Ambient Experience Research Lab, I conceptualized and developed UI/UX resources for a mobile Self-Reflection Education tool utilized in real University Classrooms with over 100 student participants.
Adapted pedagogical methodology into a SAS product through technological and educational research, user experience design and prototyping with teachers, students and educators.
Conducted academic research to develop new educational pedagogy, contributing to University Level curriculums at OCAD University and Western University.
Facilitated design workshops, lectures and exercises to assist professionals and educators to creatively express ideas through practical, creative techniques.
Secured over $10,000 in research grants from universities and the Government of Ontario for a unique and dynamic approach to education. Assisted with the creation of pitch-decks, business and project proposals.
